AETECH wins the 'Edison Award' in the U.S.
Waste resource sorting solution startup AETECH (CEO Park Tae-hyung) announced on the 23rd that it has won the 2025 Edison Award in the United States, known as the 'Oscar of Innovation.'
The Edison Awards are one of the world's leading innovation and invention awards, recognizing ideas, technologies, services, products, and leadership that are creative, innovative, and have social value. The award ceremony will take place on April 3 in Fort Myers, Florida, and AETECH is expected to receive one of the Gold, Silver, or Bronze awards in the manufacturing and logistics sector for process innovation.
AETECH's waste resource sorting solution 'Airo-mrf' is a resource recovery facility operated by robots. Here, robots handle the loading and unloading of waste, as well as both pre-processing and post-processing. The AI-based waste optical sorting robot 'Atron' plays a key role in sorting waste at this facility.
Through Airo-mrf, AETECH plans not only to produce high-purity PET flakes but also to directly enter the resource recycling industry, beyond just supplying solutions.
Park Tae-hyung, CEO of AETECH, stated, "It is an honor to receive the Edison Award, which has global authority," and added, "I will contribute to the innovation of the waste industry through the smart automation facility Airo-mrf."
Meanwhile, AETECH, founded in 2020, created the AI waste robot 'Atron' and commercialized it for the first time in the country, holding the record for the most installations among domestic waste robot startups.
