The Gyeonggi Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Kim Won-kyung) will participate in the '2024 GITEX' held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from the 13th to the 16th to support incubated startups.

This event will showcase the innovative technologies of startups and provide opportunities to explore entry into overseas markets by building a global network.

Expand North Star, held at the '2024 GITEX' exhibition, is an event where global investors and buyers gather, known as the largest information technology (IT) exhibition in the world alongside the CES in the United States.

A total of five startups supported by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center advanced to the semifinals of the Expand North Star pitching program, the 'Supernova Challenge,' proving their global competitiveness.

Startups participating in the 'Supernova Challenge' have the opportunity to present their unique innovative technologies and business models at this event, which involves startups with innovative technologies from around the world and various ecosystem participants, and glimpse market entry possibilities through networking with investors and industry experts.

The startups that advanced to the semifinals include △ AETECH (an AI-based waste sorting robot solution based on object recognition) △ MQRATEK (a high-performance battery balancing module (BBM) solution for restoring the safety and performance of reused batteries) △ i-ESG (an AI-based integrated management solution for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) responsibilities of companies) △ Diovistudio (a company specializing in AI-based virtual face graphic technology development) △ Fin2B (a B2B financial platform for discounting accounts receivable using digital technology), all five of which are excellent startups discovered through the Gyeonggi Climate Tech Startup Incubation Project (Gyeonggi Province), Global Base Business (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), and Startup Leap Package (Ministry of SMEs and Startups) operated by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center.

A center official stated, “Prior to this exhibition, we supported incubated startups to understand the local business environment and secure global business insights,” adding, “We will continue to provide generous support to ensure that domestic startups can enhance their competitiveness in the global market and settle successfully.”
