Waste resource sorting robot development company AETECH announced on the 8th that it exhibited a waste sorting humanoid robot at the world's largest smart city exhibition 'SCEWC 2024' held in Barcelona, Spain, from the 5th to the 7th (local time).

AETECH is a startup developing waste resource sorting robots. In this exhibition, they showcased their humanoid robot 'Atroid' for the first time, introducing a waste management solution.

Atroid is equipped with a camera in its robotic eyes. Unlike 'Atron', it is characterized by the absence of a vision box. It sorts waste in a gripper manner rather than a blower type, much like a human would.

An AETECH representative explained, "The humanoid type waste sorting robot is the result of the convergence of vision artificial intelligence (AI), robot control, and hardware development technologies."
