Samchully Group takes its first step in fostering K-startups… selecting and supporting 5 companies.
The demonstration day of the investment-linked startup discovery contest ‘S-Together’ hosted by the Samchully Group and organized by The Invention Lab was held successfully on the 1st at the Samchullyi Motors Gunpo Connected Center.
S-Together is a competition that the Samchully Group first held this year to discover and nurture startups with creative ideas and growth potential.
In July, a month-long call for applications was received from startups with various technologies and solutions across four fields: climate tech, deep tech, demo tech, and K-culture, resulting in the participation of over 400 promising domestic startups.
▲‘The Grit’ developing reusable containers that can replace disposable products ▲‘Cosmos Lab’ developing next-generation non-flammable water batteries using aqueous electrolytes ▲‘Qubic’ generating secure synthetic data without sensitive information leaks ▲‘AETECH’ producing waste sorting robots based on artificial intelligence (AI) ▲‘Simple Planet’ producing cell-cultured food ingredients (alternative proteins and unsaturated fatty acids) were finally selected as participating companies for the demo day.
These startups introduced their companies and demonstrated prototypes and solutions to over 100 judges and Samchully Group executives.
Based on evaluation criteria such as marketability, technology, and profitability, ▲Grand Prize (5 million won) went to Cosmos Lab ▲Gold Prize (3 million won) to Simple Planet ▲Silver Prize (2 million won) to AETECH ▲Bronze Prize (1 million won) to The Grit and Qubic, which were each named. The Samchully Group plans to continue providing selective investments and commercialization support of around 300 million won per company in the future.
Samchully CEO Yoo Jae-kwon stated, “With the first S-Together held this year, we will continue to support the growth of young and promising companies and fulfill our social responsibility through co-prosperity.”
The Samchully Group, which is engaged in businesses such as city gas and the restaurant industry, is approaching its 70th anniversary next year.
